Disaster Management

Back

As with all areas of Australia, the Bulloo Shire is prone to natural disasters. Flooding, bushfires, drought, storm damage and heatwaves are the primary risks to residents of the Shire. The Bulloo Shire Council Disaster Management Plan provides an outline for prevention, preparation, response and disaster recovery arrangements in our community and in partnership with other levels of government.

Council is required to have a Disaster Management Plan pursuant to the Disaster Management Act 2003. The Bulloo Shire Local Disaster Management Group (LDMG) is responsible for managing disaster operations, which primarily involves coordination of response operations and other agencies.
