Pensioner concessions

If you have moved here, you need to make an application to our Council as concessions received in other shires and cities aren't transferable.

Council's rebate

Eligible pensioners can apply for a Rates concession or discount for dog registration. To be eligible for rates concessions, applicants must:

  • have a Pensioner Concession Card, an Entitlement Card or a Gold Card 
  • be the registered owner and resident of the property for which the rebate is claimed.

Part pensioners are also eligible for Council's rebate. To find out more, contact ph 4621 8000.   

Seniors receiving a full pension benefit are eligible for a 50 per cent discount on their dog registration. For more info, contact ph 4621 8000. 

Yoga

A gentle stretch program incorporating: breathing exercises, Pilates based abdominals, and relaxation. Increased flexibility, stronger back and a calm state of mind are a result of this low impact, rejuvenating program.

The Community Centre does not offer classes as such but yoga tapes are available for use at any time.

Aqua Aerobics

Low-impact form of aerobics that allows you to keep cool by being in a pool! Aqua aerobics is particularly beneficial to people with joint problems or those recovering from injury.

Pilates

Conditioning the mind and body - Pilates is for anyone who is interested in improving their posture, muscle tone, flexibility and core strength. Pilates also relieves stress and helps with injury prevention and rehabilitation. Pilates is not limited by fitness level or age.

The Community Centre does not offer classes as such but pilates tapes are available for use at any time.

  • Cards, Crosswords & Scrabble - 10.00-12.00pm (1st & 3rd Tuesday in Month)
  • Health Check and Chat 10.00-12.00pm (2nd Tues in Month)
  • Bingo 10.00-12.00pm (4th Tues in Month) (Coffee & Tea provided for morning tea)
